Government Committed to Improve Business Climate

The Albanian Government is keen to increase the cooperation with entrepreneurs, Minister of Economy and Finance Anila Denaj said on Friday. During a meeting with representatives of the main businesses part of the American Chamber of Commerce, Denaj said that the government aims to further improve fiscal procedures by simplifying the legislation of revenue-generating agencies.  Albania's economy is evidently on the consolidation path, Denaj said, adding that as for 2018 growth expectations are above 4% of the gross domestic product (GDP), up from about 3.8% in 2017, while international financial agencies such as Standard & Poor's and Moody's have rated Albania with B + and B1. The Minister also said that the economic growth was reflected in the labor market, citing the latest EU report on the Albania's economy. "Overall unemployment continued to decline, reaching 12.2%, the lowest historical level," she noted. "So today, I share with you the same view that one of the main problems facing businesses is dishonest competition and the fight against informality, she said. Minister Denaj also that the government will always focus on the partnership with businesses and will continue the reforms undertaken to improve the business climate in order to facilitate doing business in Albania and create as many successful opportunities as possible.
