Albania and Kosovo to remove roaming fees by May 2019

Albania and Kosovo plan to scrap roaming fees starting May 2019. The news was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Fatmir Limaj in an interview with Radio Evropa e Lire (Free Europe Radio). “Kosovo is ready to remove roaming fees right away. Tirana will make that decision in May and we will no longer have roaming fees,” Limaj said. The removal of fees will be beneficial for the citizens and businesses considering the deepening relations between Albania and Kosovo. Both countries have invested billions in road infrastructure to ease their economic collaboration. Official records claim that Albania exports annually a 200 million euros of goods to Kosovo, whereas Kosovo exports 60 million euros of goods to Albania.
