Hilton to open its first hotel in Albania in June 2018
US hospitality chain Hilton said it will open its first hotel in Albania in the summer of 2018, introducing its Garden Inn hotel brand in the capital Tirana. Hilton Garden Inn Tirana will have 141 guestrooms and two suites, as well as meeting room facilities, Hilton’s press office told SeeNews on Tuesday. “Hilton Garden Inn Tirana is part of the award-winning Hilton Garden Inn hotel brand, which has over 750 hotels around the world. Hilton Garden Inn provides business and leisure guests with midscale affordable accommodations, whilst also providing best-in-class offerings for a brighter and more comfortable stay,” the press office added. The hotel encompasses a business centre, a 9,600-square-metre meeting space for work and social events of up to 500 guests, along with bars and a restaurant. The Albanian government considers tourism as one of the key sectors of the economy. The number of foreign tourists who visited Albania in the January-November period rose 23% on the year to 2.32 million, data from the country's statistical office, INSTAT, showed last month
