Fiscal and Customs Pardon Lek 20 bln

According to the report accompanying this law, the value of debt amnesty that citizens or businesses owe to the state is estimated at Lek 91 billion

TIRANA – The law adopted several months ago for forgiving debts that businesses owe to Albania’s the fiscal administration is about to expire as its final deadline is December 31.
According to the statistics from the fiscal administration, around Lek 18.3 billion were forgiven by the fiscal duties, while other Lek 1.6 billion were forgiven as customs duties.
According to the report accompanying this law, the value of debt amnesty that citizens or businesses owe to the state is estimated at Lek 91 billion.
The value of taxes on used vehicles that have been repealed according to the data from the General Directorate of the Road Transport Service is estimated at about Lek 11.9 billion.
Over the past two years, 2015-2016, tax and customs administrations have taken a series of anti-informal measures in the country.
This plan against informality has been accompanied at the same time in a large measure by measures facilitating fiscal procedures. This was done with the aim to reflect the expectations and requirements of entrepreneurship in view of improving the climate business and good fiscal administration.
But for this initiative, there have been some additional demands from the business community, for extending some benefits from this amnesty. The customs and fiscal administration have repeated their calls to both citizens and businesses to take the advantage and benefit from this law that will be in force till December 31 this year.
